Who are at Breast cancer risk?
- All women are at risk; especially, women older than 55 years old;
- Women who have family members with Breast Cancer;
- Women with hormonal disorders and endocrine diseases (goiter, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, diabetes mellitus type I), obesity and liver diseases;
- Women who did not have children and who had abortions;
- Women cancelling of breastfeeding;
- Women with early menarche (periods started before 12 years old) and/or late menopause (after 55 years old);
- Women with some benign breast conditions;
- Women with uterine or ovarian masses;
- Women after breast injury or after cosmetic breast surgeries (ex., breast implants).
These women have to visit Breast Disease specialist regularly for breast check-up (physical examination, ultrasonography, mammography).
Breast Cancer can usually be cured if it was detected early!
